The Stone Roses’s Biography

Meshing ’60s-styled guitar pop with an understated ’80s dance beat, the Stone Roses defined the British guitar pop scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s. After their eponymous 1989 debut album became a British sensation, countless other groups in the same vein became popular, including The Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, and Happy Mondays. However, the band was never able to capitalize on the promise of their first album, waiting five years before they released their second record and slowly disintegrating in the year and half after its release.

tHe CuRe

Formed during the punk era of the 1970s while still in secondary school in Crawley, West Sussex, England, The Cure has been one of the most enduring bands of the last thirty years, even if that has come at the price of multiple line-up changes, with only original frontman Robert Smith remaining in the band. Shunning the anarchistic tendencies of many punk bands after their formation in 1976, The Cure’s first release was Killing an Arab, based on material from French writer Albert Camus’ “L’Etranger” (translated into English as The Stranger or The Outsider). This track courted controversy because of its theme (misinterpreted as rascist, it was in fact, about the futility of killing any ethnicity), but it started to secure a small following, which grew following the release of debut album Three Imaginary Boys and non-LP single Boys Don’t Cry in 1979,

giLa gw masih suka bgt ma ni jenis musik mpe sekarang. ga tau kenapa gw msh ja suka the cure, puLp, morrisey, cHarlatans, lightning seeds, stone roses, seahorses, kula shaker, trus banyak gi deh…… mungkin buat anda2 semua yg masih nyimpen klip, mp3 or cd nya bleh juga tuch dibagi ke gw^_^ gw baru ja coba2 buat bLoG ‘n kayanya masih banyak butuh amat sangat bantuan dari anda2 yg lebih expert gitu….., jadi kalo da saran atau pengalaman dalam pembuatan bLoG ajarin gw yach……… ni da sedikit tulisan mengenai brit pop.
